Two things I'd like to see in a RPG...

Naked anthropomorphic females! Nah, I'm kidding. That's already in plenty of games. Nah, I'm kidding again. I don't really want to see it anyway.

First thing...Pocket diving!

There's plenty of games, notably RPGs and Adventure games that have an inventory. Rather than switching to a seperate screen with tiles or text or what have you, why not zoom in go the character's actual pockets, napsack, or whatever?

There would have to be some trickery here most likely. Not actual game-sized items in most cases. And the camera would zoom fairly quickly so the pocket or bag could be switched with a larger one. Best yet, Havok physics! Have kind of an invisible bubble around items and let players move or toss them around. Grab the one they want, and boom! Zoom back out to whatever they were doing before with item in hand.

Second thing...actual targetted attacking!

Sure, there's the Fallout-style targetting of bodyparts. But I'm thinking more along the lines of a Chrono Trigger-esque 3D battle system where you can aim where your attacks land. Critical hits might break the legs on a giant spider boss reducing its attack power or something like that. Or imagine the boss battles in Soul Reaver 1, but multiplayer and possibly turn based.

So, get to it developers! Who...probably will never read this.
